Barbara Taylor-Cox, M.D., is a physician specializing in general pediatric medicine in the West Houston area. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, and completed her residency training at both Memorial Hermann Hospital and MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she received the distinction of Outstanding Senior Resident.
Dr. Taylor-Cox is the founder and owner of West Houston Pediatrics, P.A., where she has practiced solo pediatric medicine for 25 years. Dr. Taylor-Cox was drawn to pediatric medicine for the honor and privilege of serving her patients on a continual basis for potentially two decades of their lives.
Dr. Taylor-Cox has served as Chief of Pediatrics at West Houston Medical Center and currently serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council at Houston Baptist University’s College of Science and Math. She is a member of the Harris County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is affiliated with the West Houston Medical Center, Texas Children’s Hospital, The Women’s Hospital of Texas, Memorial Hermann Hospital and American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Taylor-Cox has also had the privilege of having her research published in both the Journal of the American Dietetic Association and Proceedings of the Society of Experimental Biology and Medicine.
Dr. Taylor-Cox is married to Houston attorney Ray L. Cox and is the proud mother of their 17 year-old twin sons, Tyler and Colton.
