GREGO

A broadcast professional with extensive on-air experience in both radio and television, GREGO is the host of NewsFix, the anchorless newscast broadcast daily on Houston’s KIAH CW39 at 5 and 9 p.m. GREGO provides a running narration for stories and a daily on-camera closing commentary at the end of each show. Trust is an essential part of the bond GREGO has forged with the NewsFix audience, which has contributed to the show’s success and made NewsFix an alternative to traditional newscasts. The conversational style and sincere tone of GREGO’s voice helps to build a bond with the audience as he sounds less the staid announcer and more the “regular guy.”

GREGO is a graduate of The Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and spent two decades as a night time, afternoon drive time and morning show radio personality. GREGO came to Texas in 1989 and was the creator and host of “Outlaw Radio” in Houston on Rock 101 KLOL. The program was nationally recognized, written about and often imitated. GREGO joined the famous Stevens and Pruett morning show on KLOL in 2000. He has been featured in numerous international and industry trade publications, including Radio Only (1989), Radio and Records (1991), FMQB (1991), People magazine (1991), and was named A.I.R. Award Best Midday Host in Miami, Florida (1998). In 2004, GREGO was recognized via proclamation by Dallas Mayor Laura Miller for his community service.
